The National Counter-Terrorism Centre (NCTC), Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) held a Country Needs Assessment Workshop with Global Community Engagement and Resilience Fund (GCERF) and other relevant stakeholders on Wednesday 24 April 2024 in Abuja.

At the event, the National Coordinator, NCTC, Major General Adamu G. Laka, said the Federal Government had put in place policies and strategies to contain violent extremism which had worsened the insecurity in Nigeria.

According to him, the Federal Government remains committed to addressing the root causes of violent extremism in order to curb the mysecurity challenges confronting the nation.

The Country Manager, GCERF, Mickael Amal, said the workshop was to explain the main findings of the country needs assessment with a view to giving more insights on where to reposition the strategy for preventing violent extremism.
