South-South Cooperation programme for Peacebuilding Workshop hold in Abuja

Hybrid Consultation Workshop for the South-South Cooperation (SSC) Programme for Peacebuilding, was held in Abuja, on 11 July, 2024.

While addressing participants at the workshop, the National Coordinator, National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC), Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA), Maj Gen AG Laka noted that the meeting was a continuation of previous engagements as it would provide opportunity to build on preceding discussions on collaboration for the implementation of the SSC Programme in Nigeria.

He added that the SSC programme was apt and aligned with peacebuilding process geared towards complementing government efforts to foster peace, unity and national security. Additionally, he said it conformed with the Policy Framework and National Action Plan for Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism deployed through the whole-of-government and whole-of-society approach to ensuring a safer society.

General Laka encouraged stakeholders to consider priority needs of the regions as this would form components of the curriculum for the Learning Route.
