IGP Hails General Laka’s new approach to Counter Terrorism

The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun has commended the National Coordinator of the National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC), Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA), Major General AG Laka for his new approach in counter terrorism operations.

He gave the commendation when General Laka led some of his management staff on a courtesy call on the IGP at Louis Edet House in Abuja on 19 September 2024.

The IGP observed that the current approach that warranted the desired synergy and support by ONSA through the NCTC has resorted into successful operations and clearance in high-risk security areas within the country.

Egbetokun pledged the collaboration of the police and support in order to free the country from terrorism and other organised crimes.

Earlier, General Laka expressed appreciation to the IGP for the deployment of officers to various joint operations noting that the recent synergy among the military and other services has yielded successes in the war against terrorism. He said the National Security Adviser (NSA), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu has continued to emphasise the importance of collaboration among various agencies to adequately tackle terrorism and violent extremism.

General Laka who was accompanied by senior management staff from the NCTC, requested that the Police would continue to collaborate with the Centre in its efforts to rid the country of terrorism and other violent crimes.
